Who we are

The gregorianka.com website is run by the Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Białynicze in Białynicze, in the Mogilev region, in the Archdiocese of Minsk–Mohilev. It is not an intermediary or a company: the intentions are accepted by the parish, and the Masses are celebrated by priests of this archdiocese. The parish is responsible for the content of the website and for every request it accepts.

Białynicze is a place with a long history – for centuries it was famous for its miraculous image of Our Lady, and in Soviet times the shrine was destroyed. Today's Catholic community is small. You can read more about its history on the Shrine of Our Lady of Białynicze page.

Why this initiative was started

In many parishes, especially large ones, people have to wait weeks for a Mass for a particular intention, and often even longer for thirty Masses day after day. Meanwhile, in the small parishes of eastern Belarus the calendar of intentions is often free. We want to bring these two situations together:

• for the faithful – to make it possible to request Masses for the dead and the living without a long wait, especially Gregorian Masses for one deceased person;
• for priests and communities – to provide support, because Mass offerings are one of their sources of livelihood;
• for the shrine – to bring its rebuilding closer; the offerings made through gregorianka.com support this work.

We do not treat Holy Mass as a service. Every intention is a petition that the priest brings to God in the Sacrifice of Christ, and the offering of the faithful is a voluntary gift to the Church – we write more about this on the Mass offering page.

Which intentions we accept

The intentions most often requested here are Gregorian Masses – thirty Masses day after day for one deceased person. We also accept novenas, that is nine Masses for the dead or for the living in special need, the thirty-day prayer “To the Heavenly Court”, the annual remembrance of the dead read out in Białynicze before Sunday Mass, and single Masses for individual intentions.

How we work

1. Request. The intention can be sent through the form on the website, by e-mail or via WhatsApp. Just tell us for whom the Mass is to be celebrated and what kind of intention it is.
2. Proposed date. We reply by e-mail, proposing a date and the times of the Masses. For Gregorian Masses this means thirty consecutive days.
3. Offering. The offering is made to the parish account. Its amount and the principles are described on the offering for Gregorian Masses page.
4. Confirmation. No later than two days after your offering has been made we send a confirmation with the intention, the date or dates and the time of each Mass.

Transparency: who, where and how

We want the person requesting a Mass to know to whom they are entrusting their intention. That is why:

• we give the priests' names – on the Priests page we introduce the priests who celebrate the requested Masses;
• we say where the Masses are celebrated – first of all in Białynicze, and also in other parishes of eastern Belarus;
• we confirm in writing the intention and the date and time of each Mass;
• we keep to the Church's norms – Gregorian Masses are always for one deceased person, and their continuity is governed by the 1967 declaration “Tricenario Gregoriano”.

We do not publish invented reviews or promises that we could not honestly make. The fruits of Holy Mass depend not on a website or on the mere number of Masses, but on the mercy of God and the infinite value of the Sacrifice of Christ – as the Church teaches.
